Do I need to be a certified teacher?: No. We welcome retired teachers, veterans, executives, and community leaders. The Academy will prepare you.
How much time does it take?: Most OWL tutors give 1–3 hours per week. The relationship matters more than the volume.
Will I have to pay for anything?: Never. Training, the background check, and the platform are free.
Is there a stipend?: Where available, stipends are voluntary and structured to comply with applicable laws, tax rules, and school policies.
How are students kept safe?: Every tutor is background-checked. All contact happens on platform. We train on child-safety and mandatory reporting before you ever meet a student.
What if I'm not great with technology?: The platform is designed for you. Large type, clear buttons, simple steps. If you can use email, you can use OWL.
Can I tutor virtually or in person?: Both. We match based on subject, schedule, and your preferences.
